 Another Summer in the Ghetto

I worked on this video as a Camera Assistant and Second Cameraman. I had been looking for an oportunity to use this Bolex I had rigged with an Anamorphic lens. The lens was meant to be used on a projector, but I was able to attach it to the bolex using the framework from a Bolex matte box. Needless to say, all the cool looking anamorphic(squeezed) footage was shot by me.

I am told the cost of this video came to more than $12,000 (and I worked for free). I think most of the money went toward the editing, but the video clearly doesn't look like it should cost that much. By all accounts it's nothing special, and I'm not sure why the local record label was interested in financing such a product.

I don't think this video ever saw any airtime other then a local piece one of the stations did while we were shooting. Ironically, Thang 4 U cost about 1/3 of this and is just as good a video if not a better one....plus I like the song better.
